Correspondents from bands

September-
Me: Would you be interested in performing in a music video for my media project?

Jack Watson: Yeah my band isn’t together anymore but me and Michael could do one for you

Me: Yeah that’s fine I need an original song of you if you have one?

Jack Watson: Yeah I’ll get it recorded for you.

October-

Me: I need some images of you for my digipak and print advert, can you do it this week?

Jack Watson: Yeah I can do it, I'll have to ask Michael because I think he is busy

Me: It's okay if he is I can just use you

November-

Me: I need to get some filming of you playing the song

Jack Watson: I can do it this week at night?

This video by Ed Sheeran has aspects of live performance and it also has shots from different sets. Such as a live performance arena and outdoor scenery.
It's very organised in the way it is set out, I could use this for my music video as I am filming in different sets.They think a lot about the camera angles.

The video by The script has a clear storyline and it shown throughout the film. As I will be filming outside for most of my video I can take the aspects of using light reflectors and the organisation of timing. There are other extras in the music video that needed to be directed and as I could have other people in my video I should learn how to organise them.

In this video by You Me At Six it is all being filmed outside so there would have to be a lot of planning about the weather and the shadows they are making. There are a lot of aspects of live performances but there are other things going on in the video as well. It is all linked to the song and the message they are trying to put across.

In this video by Plan B there is a clear storyline of gangs and drug related and some dramatic scenes. It includes a lot of street dancing.The video has good chorography and has aspects of fire. There is also some performance of playing the piano as well as singing in the video.

Print advert research

This advert is successful as it stands out and looks relevant to the genre. The layout is is effective and the images are bold.

The colours are bold and stand out. I could take ideas from the layout for my own advert. The image is smaller so the focus is on the reviews which are positive.
